Chapter 1 | Introduction and Overview
Welcome, and thanks for purchasing this amateur adult entertainment guide book! I hope you find the information helpful and useful.
When I first started making adult-themed videos, I was totally lost and it took me a long while to get properly organized. Of course, I have learned a lot along the way, so I created this guide as a way to provide all of the critical information I wished I had when I was starting out.
Additionally, I had many people contacting me and asking me questions about how I started and the directions I took. I realized there was an obvious need for this kind of information for newcomers to the business.
From the start, I had a lot of questions to answer: Where should I post my videos? What social media channels would allow my content? How much time and money should I invest in this?
I managed to find a good groove and settled on a formula that works very well for me. In the rest of this introduction, you’ll find an overview of this guidebook that summarizes that all the major points you’ll need to consider when starting a business in amateur adult entertainment from beginning to end.
Chapter 2 | Finding Your Niche – Introduction
The first and most important aspect to creating and selling your content is knowing and developing your unique brand. How do you do this? It starts by knowing what niche content you’d like to create.
If you don’t have a specific niche and want to “do it all,” that’s fine, but consider that you might get lost in all the noise. If possible, find a niche that interests you and build on that.
This doesn’t mean you can’t branch out here and there, but try and develop an identity that will make you distinct and will keep your fans coming back for more. That being said, if your niche is ultra specific, that can also cause problems for obvious reasons. This doesn’t mean you can’t also try it, just know if you’re niche is extremely specific, it will appeal less to the general population. Just something to keep in mind.
In the end, being YOU is the only thing you have that no one else does. If you choose content that comes naturally to you, it will be authentic and you’ll find it easier to connect with your audience and start to accumulate fans.
While we all have many kinks, I’d suggest you start with one. Pick something you are good at and that you enjoy. To begin, ask yourself these questions:
Chapter 4 | Making Your Content – Introduction
This is where things can get complex, but they don’t have to. The easiest way to start is to pick up your smartphone or camera (if you have one) and film yourself the next time you get frisky.
The two biggest concerns you’ll have to deal with when you start is finding a tripod or something that can hold your phone or camera, and making sure you have adequate lighting. But other than that, whether your kink is solo, couples fun, group sex, or freaky deaky stuff…just film it and start posting. Once you get into a groove and want to get more detailed, then you can start worrying about the extraneous details.
Use any camera (your phone) and any set (your bedroom, your kitchen, your balcony, a beach, your hotel room, etc), and any toys you already have. Don’t spend a dime on anything new and just get to work.
Often, amateur videos and photos will outperform professional content created by studios that spend large amounts on equipment, photographers, locations, and performers. Once you start getting comfortable with what you have, you’ll find what pieces are holding you back and can buy the tools as you need them. I’ll get into tools and recommended equipment in coming section.
Chapter 4.1.4 | Software (***** **, freeware)
(Note: most names of software have been obscured for the preview. Two have been left to illustrate the detail of the Adult Model Startup Guide Book)
There are several free programs available to edit your photo and video content (Photos: ****, ********* ******, Snapseed; Videos: Microsoft Photos [yep, even for video], ******, *******, *******, and ********* ****). However, the biggest downfall with free video editors is in their limited ability to edit your content to its full potential. When you are starting, this isn’t a huge problem, but you might outgrow the free programs rather quickly. **** however is an exception, especially once you learn how to use it.
The gold standard in paid editing software is ***** ******** ***. While it isn’t cheap and it takes some time to learn the ropes, ***** ******* through ***** ******* **** charges a reasonably priced monthly fee and provides one of the best tools to make your content look great (even big budget movies will use this software).
Chapter 6.1 | Promotion Checklist
Using a checklist will help keep you organized and consistent when you’re creating content or promoting it (can you tell I like lists?). Fans generally prefer consistency, as they want an easy way to recognize and follow your work and to know when you post fresh content. The easier you make it for them to consume your content, the more fans you’ll attract.
Chapter 6.2 | Managing Your Restrictions
Writing posts on social channels takes a lot of time, so ensuring you don’t throw that time away is essential. When first posting, I would go to the work of writing a post only to find that my content wasn’t allowed and the post would be deleted.
While our first barrier is often adult content, other channels have other restrictions: the most common being self promotion. Many channels want only posts from those who are not trying to make money off their work.
This means that anything you post must be free of things like watermarks, links to your site, social media handles, etc. Further to this, many also require a specific syntax in post naming, the inclusion (or exclusion) of links, etc, so make sure you understand the rules of the medium you choose to post.
This is where a checklist will save you a lot of time and hassle. If you can quickly refer to a list of what or what not to do when you’re posting and for what sites, it will help streamline the entire process.
Chapter 6.3 | Generating Traffic
One of the best ways to promote your content is to leverage sites that allow you to share your work. Every site listed below has its own set of rules and restrictions that you’ll have to adhere to. I’ll go over the main features of each, but you may want to dig a bit deeper into each or find other options altogether.
